Welcome to SimpsOn The Go!
We are so excited you are here and traveling the world with us! Our story is a little different than some other Travel Content Creators. We actually did this whole thing in late 2019 and early 2020. We had saved for 5 years to go travel the world. We were turning 30 years old, and we thought, before we have kids and settle down, let’s go to some of the places we had dreamt of visiting. So…we did.
And then, as you very much know, the world shut down in March of 2020. We had been on the go for about 4.5 months before we made the tough decision to head home and put our dreams on pause. If you haven’t, go check out our Egypt series, because you will see how we nearly got stuck in Egypt during the heat of the world closing down. If we hadn’t made the second to last flight out of the country, we would have been there until November 2020. In fact, I’ll put that series below for you in case you’re interested!
Now that you are all caught up on what happened in 2020, when we stopped traveling the world, stopped filming, and thought are dreams were ending. Fast forward 3 years.
We moved back to New York City, where all our friends were, and lived there for a couple more years as we reestablished ourselves in the workforce. But we always felt like we were missing a piece of us. So we decided, at the end of our lease, once again, to sell all our stuff, this time move our dog back to California to stay with our family while we traveled, and hit the road again.
That brings us to today. We are 33 years old (Nick’s almost 34!), we bought a house in Medellín, Colombia, which we will eventually move to full time, but for now, we explore the world.
